while she grew
About the book
Unlike polished memoirs or fill-in-the-blank journals, this is a raw and unfiltered record of one mother’s emotional and physical transformation—from the first wave of pregnancy nausea to toddler tantrums and late-night diplomatic reports.
Through heartbreak, jealousy, love, and rebirth, she maps a journey that rarely gets told this honestly.
It’s not a baby book.
It’s a mother’s survival story.

My name is Kat Plskova
A mother, writer, and global citizen who has lived and worked across continents, balancing diapers, work and the inner storms of early motherhood. While She Grew is my first book — born not from intention, but from necessity.
Originally written as a private journal, it was never meant for public eyes. It was where I processed my pain, loneliness, jealousy, and rebirth — raw, chaotic, and without filter. But over time, the act of writing transformed. The journal became a lifeline, and eventually, a gift.
“I wrote the journal to survive. I published the book to connect.”
The book remains fiercely honest, but unlike the journal, it holds structure. It carries reflection. It offers a hand to anyone who has ever felt undone by love, exhaustion, or identity loss.
Today, I live abroad with my family. I continue to write in the margins of motherhood — where the messy, meaningful things tend to grow.
What’s Unique About The Book
While She Grew combines raw journaling, complete coverage from pregnancy through toddlerhood, and a unique international context—making it a distinct and valuable addition in this space.
